Make sure you structure your speech as precisely as you can. You should not have more than two or three main points. Near the start of the speech when you have your audience’s attention, preview to them what those points will be. With each point, have two or three pieces in support, such as examples, definitions, testimony, or statistics. Visual aids are crucial if you want your audience to understand a process or concept or to understand a financial goal. Line graphs are good for trends. Bar graphs are best for comparisons and pie graphs are best for showing the distribution of percentages.
